    culinary scene
    local fare
    easy parking
    missing night cap
    no drinks

The culinary scene around Epernay is a delight! We strolled to Le Progres for mouthwatering local fare and La cave de l'avenue de champagne offered a killer selection of bubbly. Plus, the location is unbeatable, and parking was easy!

We enjoyed chilling in the lounge post-dinner, but it would've been fab to sip a late-night drink. A little honesty box for a night cap would go a long way, although everything else still sparkled.

    charming decor
    expensive breakfast

The charming old-style rooms are beautifully decorated, offering a tranquil and relaxing atmosphere after a long drive, complete with great linen and cozy beds.

The breakfast was quite pricey at €18 per person.

A beautiful old French Chateau, nicely decorated with period and art neveau pieces. Comfortable, clean and within half a mile of the town centre.

Breakfast is 15 Euros. Yes fifteen. Per person. Needless to say we did not partake. I know Clos Raymi is not a cheap hotel, but this is extortion! As were the prices of tea and coffee at five Euros per cup. The beds were covered with a nasty plastic waterproof sheet. Hot, sweaty and uncomfortable - not what I expect for this kind of money.

    friendly staff

    Couple looking for cozy retreat

The place had some nice touches. We found the two ladies helping the owner to be really friendly and efficient.

It wasn't exactly inexpensive, but fair enough for what you get.

The hotel is charming, the hostess and staff very friendly and helpful and the breakfast is fabulous. A perfect place for our first two nights in France after traveling nearly 36 hours from Australia.

The breakfast was terrific and the location was perfect. We didn't need the car until we were leaving the hotel. You can walk to all the champagne tastings and restaurants.

There was no elevator nor a porter, so we had to carry our own bags up to the first floor. (I don't thing there are rooms on teh 2nd floor unless it is a penthouse.) No big deal unless you have a steamer trunk or two.

    tired room
    poor service

I had the misfortune of staying in a superior double room that was, quite frankly, exhausted, and the tiny bathroom was a real letdown. I also expected a complimentary gesture for my troubles, but nothing came my way. How hard is it to upgrade a guest who clearly deserves better? I almost gave a good review, but just couldn't.

The hotel has that French charm complete with the wonderful French archtecture and furnishings. The staff are extremely polite and professional, friendly. Nothing seemed to much trouble for any of them. Good and safe car parking. If the weather is good there are wonderful areas of tables and chairs to sit at in the garden with a nice cold glass of Bubbly

Got big size twin room with a comfortable bed and great shower when arrived, thoroughly enjoyed that. The location of the property was marvellous and beautiful, in the very pretty garden. Everything was simply perfect.

    charming communal spaces
    poorly maintained room
    uncomfortable bed

Charming communal spaces invite relaxation and interaction.

The room I was given seemed poorly maintained, with a bed that slumped uncomfortably in the middle. The bathroom lacked basic amenities like a shower curtain or glass door.

Le Clos Raymi is an excellent well located small hotel in Epernay. It is well located close to Avenue de Champagne. The room was large with a comfortable bed and was attractively furtnished. The team were able to provide us with good suggestions for where to taste champagne at smaller houses away from the main strip (Hautvillers). Would highly recommend.

    Close to the Champagne Houses.

Only the fact that cases had to be carried upstairs.
